Allegiant: Book Review

Before I go into this review, I want to say what a rollarcoaster it was reading this. I will admit, it took me a while to get into this when I started, but I had a lot of stuff happening that just delayed everything I wanted to do.

Once I finished reading Insurgent, I didn't think there could possibly be anything else that needed to be written about. After everything that happened, it left off at a point where I thought everything had been resolved. But if I've learned anything as a writer myself, nothing is ever truly resolved.

Firstly, there were some things that annoyed me:

1) Tris and Four's constant fighting
No matter what happened, these two always found something to fight about, which made my teeth grind. Even with everything they had been through, they couldn't seem to just appreciate the fact that they had each other and had survived everything thrown at them beforehand.

2) The make-out scenes
As I was reading, there was one thought running through my head: I swear, if she pulls him close by his belt loops again, I'm going to scream!

Now, onto the positives!
I loved the pacing in Allegiant. Nothing happened in a rush like some books I've read. I really liked the idea Veronica Roth was portraying when she wrote this book. All of these different people wanted the same goal, but it was all about the certain roads they took.
The ending definitely took me by surprise. I never expected the author to do what she did. Now, I won't spoil anything for you, for those who haven't read the book yet.
I would definitely recommend you all to read this! Allegiant is one of the most unique stories and endings I have read, and I hope it paves the road for more unique stories in its genre.

Until next time!
Good day and goodbye!

My Necessary Writing Habits

If any of you are like me, you have to be doing certain things while you're writing. For me, I have to do a number of small things every single time I write, otherwise I will not have a good writing session. And I'm not being overdramatic about this either. When I'm not doing these habits while I'm writing, it's like writers block is sitting right behind me, laughing at the emptiness of ideas in my brain.

So, in honor of these said habits, I'm going to make a list of them right here!

1) I sit on the floor with all of my story notes spread all around me
If you lived in the same dorm as me, and you came into my room, you would either see me sitting Indian-style on the chair in front of my desk or--as I stated--on the floor. There's just something about sitting at a desk that just makes me go crazy. I can never think clearly stuck at a desk, which would probably explain why I always had a hard time focusing during all of those college lectures.
It's a lot like that new chick in NCIS. You don't really see her sitting behind her desk. She's always sitting on the floor, or literally on top of her desk (I've done the same thing a few times). When she was first asked why she was sitting in a spot that wasn't her desk, she said it gave her a different perspective. That's kind of why I don't sit at a desk. Even if I owned a desk right now, I wouldn't sit at it.

2) I drink tea
Tea has a way of getting those gears turning in my head. When my house is empty of any and all tea, that is when all of my focus walks right out of the front door. I think the British have something going for them when it comes to all of that tea they drink. No wonder BBC has the best written shows I've ever seen!

3) I snack on something
This goes along the same lines as the tea. I don't know if I have a weird type of ADHD (I might get tested for that actually), but when I'm snacking, that's when my fingers start typing madly, as if they had entered a typing marathon. Also, I'm very weird when it comes to snacking. Say I was in a group of people watching a movie. Pretty much, everyone would take a handful of popcorn and either scarf the entire handful in their mouths, or they would eat maybe a few at a time. I don't do this. When I snack, I will take one piece of popcorn, no matter how big or small, and eat it. Just one at a time. I have NEVER come across anyone else who does this.

4) I have something playing in the background
When I write, I either have a movie or a playlist of music playing to get me in the right mood for what I'm writing. Currently, I'm writing a fantasy novel, so I would most likely have Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, or The Chronicles of Narnia playing on my TV. I have now just begun planning a paranormal/fantasy novel, so for this, I would probably play some kind of movie with vampires and/or werewolves, and anything mythology. This second novel has to do with ancient gods and goddesses with a twist.

I think that's it for all of my necessary writing habits. What habits do you all have when you're writing? Do you do any of these things, or do you do something completely different? Let me know!

Until next time,
Good day and goodbye!

WAVING MY HANDS IN THE AIR AND I DON'T CARE!!!!!

Okay, so I know this isn't technically a book review, but it is definitely book related!
I am often on Youtube, and also my second Facebook account(long story about why I made that second account), which is great for when I try to improve on my video-making and also writing skills.
To get to the point of this post, I recently found out that one of my good Inkie friends, Ashley Maker just gave out her release date for one of her works I have come to absolutely love, Under the Trees. My first thought when I found about this was, FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!
The release date has been set for September 15, 2014. It feels so far away, but I know that once the day comes, it will feel like time just flew by. I guess I'll just have to be patient for the time being, and go through the long list of books I still have to read on my kindle. Well, I'd have to replace my broken kindle, first. *sigh* It's been a bad year of technology for me, but at least physical books never fail!

A New Blog!

Hey guys! I know it's been forever since my last post, but with college and moving to a new state, things got kinda busy throughout last year. Anyway, I wanted to let you all know that with the new year(kinda late to say that right now), I wanted to do something different with my life, which is something I never really planned on doing before. I've never been one to make New Year's resolutions, because people all around me would constantly break those resolutions, but this year, it's all different. I'll be explaining more in my new blog.
Don't worry, I won't abandon this one! This one will be more focused on writing and reviewing books and stuff like that. The other one will simply be about my everyday life.
Here is the link to my new blog!

I hope you all have a lovely day!

Until next time!
